Aventura
Aventura offers resort-style living just 12 miles north of Miami and 15 miles south of Fort Lauderdale. With luxury high-rises, gated communities, well-maintained parks, and scenic golf courses, this planned city is one of the most coveted addresses in northeastern Miami-Dade County. Aventura offers an excellent selection of townhomes and condos. Some of the most sought-after homes in the city are elegantly-appointed penthouse suites and large corner units with spacious balconies and water views. Prevalent architectural styles include Modern, Mediterranean, and Contemporary. The city is home to a growing population of 37,262 as of 2017. It is also a self-contained and self-sufficient community, having opened its first municipal-run charter school in 2003 and providing efficient public transport and other vital services. The local economy is driven by retail, medical services, and 2,708 businesses.
Conveniently located between two major cities, Aventura encompasses 3.2 square miles east of I-95. It’s bounded by the Miami-Dade/Broward County line to the north, the intracoastal waterway to the east, the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) to the west, and North East (NE) 176th Street to the south. The city has a reputation for upscale retail and recreation. It is home to Aventura Mall, which has more than 300 shops and restaurants, including major department stores like Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and Macy’s as well as luxury brands like Gucci and Valentino. Its local attractions also include The Aventura Arts Cultural Center, which produces world-class plays, musicals, and concerts; Turnberry Isle Country Club, which features championship golf courses and other first-rate amenities; and The City of Aventura Community Recreation Center which offers fitness, music, and computer classes.
