Golden Beach
Founded in 1929, Golden Beach is one of the oldest communities in Miami-Dade County. How it has stayed under the radar of most luxury real estate buyers and investors from around the country for decades, if not a century, is a mystery. But just as well. Golden Beach's population numbers at less than a thousand residents. These include high-net-worth individuals and high-profile celebrities. Both groups desire privacy and luxurious oceanfront living. Golden Beach offers both. And then some.
Golden Beach's real estate market comprises upscale single-family residences that range between 2,400 to 10,000 sq. ft. in interior living space and sit in expansive lots. A melange of architectural styles are on display, from grand Chateauesque estates to one-of-a-kind Florida Vernacular homes. Some of the famous names who have made Golden Beach their address include Bill Gates and Tommy Hilfiger, but the town's illustrious residents are not the main draw. There are only 364 homes in Golden Beach, and this limited housing stock helps command sales prices of up to $20 million or more.
Golden Beach covers under 2 sq. mi. of precious waterfront, about 20 miles northeast of Miami. The town is mostly residential, but it has its fair share of parks for outdoor recreation. These include North Park, one of the largest parks in Golden Beach; Tweddle Park, which features a variety of family-friendly amenities; and Stand Park, where residents can watch the boats or launch their own non-motorized boats thanks to its location along the Intracoastal Waterway. The creme de la creme of Golden Beach's parks, however, is Loggia Beach Park with its iconic pavilion. For shopping and dining, Aventura is a short drive away.
