Wynwood
Once a drab industrial area packed with warehouses, Wynwood has since evolved into a lively district with blocks upon blocks filled with one-of-a-kind boutiques, eclectic breweries and restaurants, and galleries showcasing the finest contemporary and street art. Located just north of downtown Miami, the vibrant neighborhood is among the most coveted places to call home in the Magic City, a cultural hub where creativity flows year-round and there’s always something new and exciting to discover.
Homes in Wynwood are limited mostly to apartments, condos, and lofts, many built during the past several years. Newer condos and apartment complexes are under development, and there are many real estate options in neighboring Edgewater for those in search of more traditional Florida condos. There are some older properties available in the northern section of Wynwood, consisting mostly of ranch and Mediterranean-style single-family homes with their own gardens.
Most of Wynwood’s famed attractions like Wynwood Walls and Wynwood Marketplace are concentrated along two of its main roads, NW 2nd Avenue and North Miami Avenue. Navigate its side streets and you’ll come upon an array of entertainment venues, concept bars, and restaurants, all housed in freestanding structures or below apartment buildings, creating a well-balanced mix between urban and residential. Fashion mavens will feel right at home in Wynwood thanks to the neighborhood’s Fashion District. This dynamic collection of designer boutiques, outlets, salons, and nail bars features a laidback, bohemian vibe that serves as a nice contrast to more upscale fashion hubs elsewhere in Miami. And if you’re looking to spend time outdoors, Roberto Clemente Park is an ideal spot to get some fresh air. The pocket park features a ball field, basketball courts, colorful murals, and a playground, and is a terrific place to enjoy a morning jog or a picnic with friends and family.
